Scanlan Receives National Association Appointment

Kevin Scanlan, executive vice president of the Metropolitan Chicago Healthcare Council (MCHC), recently was appointed to the Executive Committee of the Board of Directors for the Conference of Metropolitan Hospital Associations (CMHA).

Scanlan will be one of two at-large members of the seven-person Executive Committee of the Board of Directors for the CMHA. He will serve a three-year term.

Scanlan follows in a line of MCHC executives who have been involved with the CMHA. Before taking over his current position at MCHC last year, Scanlan was involved with the CMHA for 15 years through his leadership role in MCHC’s Human Resources Services department.

"The CMHA’s Board of Directors looks at issues that affect our member hospitals collectively," Scanlan said. "As a part of the CMHA, we at MCHC can learn from other metropolitan hospital associations around the country how to deal with those issues as well as share our experiences with them."

Sherman Health Appoints Vice President of Strategy & Marketing

Sherman Health is pleased to announce the hiring of Reeven J. Elfman to the position of Vice President of Strategy & Marketing.

Elfman comes to Sherman Health with over 20 years of strategy and marketing experience, including serving as Vice President of Business Development for Ingalls Health System in Harvey, IL and spending nine years as Vice President of Planning and Marketing for Silver Cross Health System in Joliet, Illinois.

Elfman received his B.A. from Bates College in Lewiston, ME and holds an MBA from the University of Chicago with a concentration in marketing.

Alan Schneider Joins Hinsdale Hospital as Vice President of Operations

Todd Werner, CEO of Hinsdale Hospital, is pleased to welcomes Alan Schneider as its Vice President of Operations. Previously employed by the hospital from 1976 to 1991 in a variety of roles, he began his new duties May 10. His last previous position at Hinsdale Hospital was as Director of Radiology, from 1986 to 1991.

Schneider comes to Hinsdale Hospital from Florida Hospital in Orlando, Fla., where he served as Administrative Director of Radiation Oncology. He earned his Bachelor's degree from Northeastern Illinois University; MBA from Rollins College; RTT from Rush-Presbyterian-St. Luke's School of Radiation Therapy; and RT from Hinsdale Hospital School of Radiography.
