West Suburban Medical Center Physician Named Clinician of the Year

West Suburban Medical Center proudly congratulates Anthony Marinelli, M.D., Medical Director, Intensive Care Unit and Respiratory Care, for being named Outstanding Clinician by the American Thoracic Society. This award is presented to an individual who embodies excellence in the clinical practice of lung health medicine and has made substantial contributions in the clinical care of patients with lung disease and to the American Thoracic Society/American Lung Association on a local or national level.

West Suburban College of Nursing Chancellor Named President of Two Nursing Organizations

Rebecca Jones, D.N.Sc., R.N., C.N.A.A., B.C., Chancellor, West Suburban College of Nursing, was recently elected President of the American Health Science Education Consortium, a president’s support and benchmark group comprised of hospital-owned and operated colleges dedicated to advancing and supporting quality hospital and healthcare systems related to health science education in the U.S.

Jones was also appointed President of the Council for Graduate Education in Nursing Administration (CGEAN), an organization dedicated to the further development and improvement of graduate education for administration in nursing.

Laura Prohov Named Director of Planning and Government Affairs at Council for Jewish Elderly

Laura Prohov has been named director of planning and government affairs at Council for Jewish Elderly (CJE). Prohov has more than 20 years of experience in the health care field as a social worker, administrator, consultant and planner.

Most recently, Prohov worked in planning at the Larry and Carol Levy Institute for Entrepreneurial Practice at the Kellogg School of Management. She previously worked as a consultant in the older adult market at the Mark Resource Group. She has also worked for Diversified Health Resources and Rush University Medical Center.

An active member of her community, Prohov has served on the boards of several social service agencies, is a member of the Camp Echo Committee at the McGaw YMCA, and is the membership chairperson for Congregation Hakafa in Glencoe. She was also co-founder of the Intergenerational Program in the Wilmette Public Schools, District 39 in 1994.

Prohov received her B.S. and M.S.W. from University of Illinois at Champaign and an M.B.A. from Northwestern University's Kellogg School of Management.
